Laser Lab TX & Cerakote Training Curriculum
Over three days, we will cover everything you need to know to operate your laser successfully. You will be able to start and complete projects the minute you return to your home or business! Classes will include but are not limited to:
- Understanding your laser: Calibration and alignment, functions of the hatch, line spacing, power, speed, and frequency, and how they work together
- Marking and engraving: How to mark or engrave steel, aluminum, silver, brass, copper, polymers, plastics, acrylics, and more
- Design and preparation: Understanding and using Adobe Illustrator and Inkscape to create designs that the laser will recognize and duplicate
- Finishing your project: Once your project is engraved, there are many ways to finish and detail, such as Cerakote, polish, old penny, color backfill, etc. We will discuss the options and how to achieve them (and you will be allowed and encouraged to bring a project to train on)
At the conclusion of training, you will be given a current copy of EzCad2 and a library of settings to install on your laser. These settings are for the laser to mark various materials.
If any areas were not addressed during the standard curriculum, we will try to address those as well — everyone’s direction for their business is different. We will help you with brand recognition and getting your name out there so you can start making money!
You will have after-class support as well. Laser Lab TX & Cerakote will be available for any questions you may have via email, text, or phone, or if needed, we can remotely help using Team Viewer.

Laser Training Packages We Offer
Investing in professional laser training opens up a world of possibilities. Our packages are tailored to suit everyone, from beginners to advanced users, ensuring you get the right level of instruction. Please note that a 50% deposit is required at the time of registration. The total balance is due at the beginning of the first day of class.
Beginner Training
This class covers everything listed in the curriculum. We start with the basics and cover everything you will need to know to be fully capable of producing projects with your laser! A beginner would be someone with little to no experience with Adobe Illustrator, EzCad2, Inkscape, or laser experience.
Duration: 3 days
Cost (Training Only): $4,500 plus tax per student
Cost (With Laser Purchase): $10,500
Intermediate Training
This course caters to those with at least basic knowledge of operating a laser and some graphic design. You should have some familiarity with Adobe Illustrator, EzCad2, and Inkscape and have some laser experience.
Duration: 2 days
Cost (Training Only): $3,500 plus tax per student
Cost (With Laser Purchase): $9,500
Advanced Training
This course caters to those who already have strong skills with Adobe Illustrator, EzCad2, and Inkscape and are able to operate a laser fairly well. This course is designed to hone your skills and laser knowledge even further.
Duration: 2 days
Cost (Training Only): $2,500
Cost (With Laser Purchase): $8,500
Cerakote Training
This course will teach you everything you need to know to become a master Cerakote applicator.
Duration: 1.5 days
Package Price: $1,500 plus tax
Non-Glock Polymer Training & Settings
This is an optional add-on session during laser training.
Cost: $1,000
50w JPT Fiber lasers, which is the laser you will complete your training with, are shipped with:

- Two fixture bars
- One box of aluminum business cards
- One manual
- One set of fixture screws
